Our client runs a U.S.-based pet marketplace, similar to AKC Marketplace, offering a digital space for breeders and pet owners to connect. They approached Elevanex Technologies to refine their user experience and implement smart search logic for location and breed-based filtering. The timeline for the engagement was 4 weeks, with intensive front-end and backend collaboration.

The Challenge

The existing platform had a location filter that was confusing for users—it lacked flexibility, didn't support zip code–based searches properly, and required manual clicking on "Apply" buttons far from the filters. Additionally, loading every city/zip across the country was not feasible due to performance limitations. The client also needed design alignment with their updated brand (logo and footer/header).

Our Solution

Elevanex Technologies redesigned the filtering system and improved the overall UX by:

• Implementing dynamic location input: Users can now type a ZIP code, city, or state in a single unified field (just like AKC Marketplace).

• Integrating auto-suggestion/autocomplete for cities/ZIPs that match the registration database.

• Adding a distance filter to enhance local search relevance—when used with ZIP or city.

• Introducing conditional UI logic: If a state is selected, distance is hidden (due to data limitations).

• Enabling auto-submit or contextual APPLY buttons (like Newegg) to ensure users see instant filter feedback.

• Replacing the site’s outdated logo in both header and footer with the newly provided branding.

• Ensuring responsive, intuitive, and fast-loading pages.
